The Performing Arts Department offers 3 distinct tracks for majors: Dance, Music and Theatre. A student selecting a performing arts major with an emphasis in dance, music, or theatre is required to take a sequence of courses which studies the similarities and differences among the performing arts, courses in the area of specific emphasis, and breadth courses in the other 2 areas. In each track the student studies the art form from the perspective of history and aesthetics, theory and practical application.

The Dance Emphasis
Prior dance experience is helpful, but not necessary.
