The Music Department offers an innovative music curriculum combined with cutting edge music technology. Studies in music theory, history, acoustics, aesthetics, and performance are complemented by MIDI composition and audio recording/editing, using the highest quality, most current studio equipment and computers. Structured according to established national guidelines, we provide a well-balanced and integrated program.
major requirements
The Performing Arts Department offers 3 distinct tracks for majors: Dance, Music and Theatre. A student selecting a performing arts major with an emphasis in dance, music, or theatre is required to take a sequence of courses which studies the similarities and differences among the performing arts, courses in the area of specific emphasis, and breadth courses in the other 2 areas. In each track the student studies the art form from the perspective of history and aesthetics, theory and practical application.
The Dance Emphasis
Prior dance experience is helpful, but not necessary.

In the center of musical teaching and scientific research in Munich, the Western music history as a history of musical genres and works and their reproduction of the Middle Ages to the present. In addition to meet specific areas such as music theory, aesthetics or acoustics, and music ethnologic strands (Arabic music).
