At Salem College, the dance minor brings together a community of diverse students and faculty working to create exceptional art. Students are encouraged to explore dance and discover the full range of dynamic possibilities. The dance minor gives women the opportunity to develop artistically through skilled technique classes, creative exploration and varied performance opportunities.

Salem's musical theatre minor provides a background in music, the history of musical theatre, studio training in voice, acting and four years of experience on the musical theatre stage. But theater at Salem is not limited to the musical stage. There is a vitally active, 50-year-old co-curricular theatre company, Pierrettes, that presents two productions per year, one "straight" play and one musical. These provide opportunity for work onstage, in front-of-house and in all elements of technical theatre.
