At St. Ambrose, you will receive high-quality experiences in music within the context of a broad-based liberal arts education. Theatre studies at St. Ambrose have the energy and excitement that are hallmarks of the performing arts. Students study all aspects of theatre at SAU. Since this kind of learning can't be confined to the classroom, there are plenty of opportunities to hone skills in musical, experimental, traditional and children's theatre productions. During the 2008–2009 academic year, the St. Ambrose Theatre Department will present: Rabbit Hole, Inherit the Wind, The Lesson, Seussical Jr., Lettice and Lovage, Agnes of God, and Sweeney Todd.

Christopher Fashun holds a Bachelor of Music degree in music education from Saint Olaf College in Northfield, MN and received his Masters of Music degree in percussion performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he studied with Dr. Anthony DiSanza. Having been an educator for more than 10 years, he has served as Director of Orchestras at Nicolet High School in Milwaukee and Director of Bands at Oostburg High School. Our music program offers students many opportunities to study closely with faculty and other professionals, and to gain performance experience. Courses required for the major include those intheory, history and performance. Music majors at Saint Michael’s have gone on to become music teachers, composers, music publishers, liturgical music suppliers and owner of a theatrical supply company. Saint Mary's now offers a minor in Dance. The dance minor complements current performing arts majors and provides more options for students in other majors. This 21-credit minor offers courses in dance techniques, dance history, dance composition, nutrition, voice and movement, and anatomy and kinesiology. Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College requires at least 125 credit hours for the baccalaureate degree. In addition to general studies courses and electives, the core music major requires 38 - 40 credit hours.
